We are looking for skilled dancers who are familiar tribal and Cabaret bellydance and have a basic knowledge and appreciation for yoga. Please prepare a 3 min Choreography (in full costume) Showcasing your strengths as a dancer and any special skill. Bring a dance resume including contact information, dance training and performance experience.
What is Akasha?
Akasha is the Sanskrit word meaning "aether" the basis and essence of all things. The source of everything that exists! Is exactly what you are going to experience when witnessing the flow and grace of movement through dance. Akasha performs American Tribal Style (ATS) with emphasis on experimental fusion belly dance & Yoga asanas (postures), choreographed by Artistic Director / Marci Ann Akasha is uplifting and mesmerizing. Precise and graceful movement, eclectic costumes, and the enigmatic spirit of Akasha will take you to a tribal celebration which is the heart and soul of each performance. Combining pulsing drumbeats and the entrancing sights and sounds, provided by founder / Director Ruben Mahboobi who manages the premiere Yoga Now Studio located in Chicagos Goldcoast has traveled across the Diaspora to unearth the majestic history, of the Middle East, India, Spain, and North Africa!
